Power protection for your Miner:
An inline fuse adapter between your power supply and your miner is absolutely worth it. Spending a few dollars on a fuse adapter is a highly recommended safety measure to protect a miner worth hundreds of dollars.
Compatible miners :
- NerdOctaxe Rev 3.1 , Rev3.4
- NerdQaxe++ Rev 6.0 , Rev 6.1 and Rev 6.2
- NerdQX Rev 1.0
- Bitaxe GT Rev 800 , Rev 801
Why You Need It
- PSU Overload Limits are Too High: The Mean Well LRS-350-12 features built-in overcurrent and short-circuit protection, but it is rated for up to 29 Amps continuous output. It will only trip or shut down when current significantly exceeds that ceiling (often around 35+ Amps).
- Miner Components Will Fry First: e.g Your NerdQaxe++ Rev 6.1 draws roughly 100W at standard settings (~8.3 Amps at 12V). If a voltage regulator (VRM) or capacitor shorts out on the miner board, it will easily pull 15 to 20 Amps. This current will incinerate the PCB traces, melt the upgraded XT30 connector, or destroy the expensive ASIC chips long before the Mean Well PSU detects an overload and shuts down.
- The Miner's Built-In E-Fuse is a Backup: Standard NerdQaxe++ Variants use Onboard Mini Fuse While the Rev 6.1 features an upgraded, resettable onboard smart e-fuse, hardware shorts can occasionally bypass or overwhelm onboard components when hooked up to a massive industrial power supply. An external inline physical fuse acts as an immutable fail-safe.
- Contains XT60 Male to XT60 Female connectors with 12-AWG Cable or XT30 Male to XT30 Female connectors with 16-AWG Cable for connecting your Miner to your Power supply without having to solder. It's a plug and play connector with standard Mini automative fuse for easier replacement of a blown fuse.
